In 1943, US Army Sergeant Lucas Green is one of three African American soldiers serving in an integrated unit at a military stockade in Tunisia. The stockade is home to eighteen Italian army officers, all prisoners of war. One of those prisoner’s is Major Roberto Tomaselli, the nephew of the notorious Sicilian Mafia Don, Vincenzo Tomaselli. Roberto writes a letter of introduction to the Don, vouching for Lucas. The Don and Lucas devise a plan to help Roberto escape the stockade. For Lucas, he’s promised of a better life by the Don. During the escape, Lucas fakes his death. For the plan to work, the US Army must believe he’s dead. Don Tomaselli knowing that Lucas cannot return to America, welcomes him into the Tomaselli Family, renaming him Salvatore De Luca. Roberto feels threatened and betrayed by Salvatore, as he sees his position and close ties with his uncle diminishing, all while he’s struggling to leave Sicily for America. The battle for Mafia dominance begins!
